More about Harlow
Harlow is a town of huge potential. Its location in West Essex places it at the very heart of an excellent transport network:
- It is situated on the M11 (Junction 7) which runs north to Cambridge and south to London, and links up to the M25 just a few miles south of the town
- The Channel Tunnel is within easy reach
- West Anglia Great Northern (WAGN) provides frequent services to Cambridge and London Liverpool Street with easy access to the London Underground via Tottenham Hale
- Stansted Airport, the UK's fastest growing airport, is situated 20 minutes away by road or rail.
The town lies at the centre of an area of high economic activity, stretching from the Midlands, through Cambridge and London, across the Channel, and the economic backbone of Europe.
Harlow's location, and the positive and progressive approach adopted by local service providers mean it has been identified nationally as an area where key developments can take place.
Currently it has a population of approximately 85,000 people, although this number is set to grow significantly, with up to 20,000 new homes being built in the area by 2020.
There are lots of very good reasons to enjoy living in Harlow right now: our green open spaces; our magnificent public arts collections; with world famous sculptures on the doorstep; our excellent sports and leisure facilities (a brand new centre is due to open in 2007); ever improving schools; university courses at Harlow College; our town centre which has undergone major renewal, with exciting new shops... the list goes on.
