Action Planning
To ensure that the Harlow 2020 Vision is delivered on the ground we have set up a series of Action Groups, focusing on themed priority areas. Their members are all directly involved in work which relates to the issue they address.
The Chairs of each of the Action Groups attend Steering Group meetings to ensure the Harlow 2020 Vision is delivered in a coordinated and joined up way.
The key role of all the Action Groups is:
- To develop an Action Plan consisting of specific, measurable, appropriate, realistic and timed (SMART) targets which deliver the Harlow 2020 Vision
- To work in partnership to deliver each target
- To identify barriers to achieving targets and possible solutions to overcoming these
- To consult and engage regularly with the community on the specific themed issues.
Two of the priority areas - Children and Young People, and Crime and Community Safety - have statutory partnerships which cover their work. All local authority areas across the UK have to have a Children and Young People Strategic Partnership, and a Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership.
These two bodies work to tackle their respective priority areas in a very similar way to our Action Groups and their Chairs sit on our Steering Group.
